Glass-reinforced polyester is laid wet over a prepared deck and cures into a single, joint-free surface with a hard top coat. There are no joints to split and nothing to lift, and it can be finished in a range of colours, which makes it a smart, durable choice.
Because the finished surface is tough underfoot, GRP suits balconies, walkways and any flat roof that sees regular use, as well as extensions and dormers. A GRP roof is only as good as what it is laid on, so we prepare the deck carefully and detail the edges and upstands before the covering goes down.

Is fibreglass better than rubber?
For a roof that is walked on, or a balcony, GRP wins because the surface is harder wearing. For a simple garage or extension roof, EPDM rubber is often more economical. We advise on the right one for your roof.
Does a GRP roof need dry weather to fit?
Yes. Fibreglass needs a dry deck and suitable conditions to cure properly, so we plan the exposed stages around the forecast.
How long does a fibreglass roof take?
A typical domestic GRP roof takes a couple of days, as each layer needs time to cure. We explain the programme when we quote.
Can I have an anti-slip finish?
Yes, where the roof is used regularly or as a balcony we can add a harder-wearing, anti-slip finish. We discuss the options for your roof.
What determines the price?
The area and deck condition, whether new plywood is needed, the amount of edge detail and the chosen finish all affect it. We put the price in writing before booking.
